In recent History, Hong Kong's fate is tied to five persons. The first is Baroness Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013). 

I think as much as she wanted to push the best for Hong Kong during the talks with People's Republic of China in the 1970s, the Chinese leaders had the cards being kept. 

Will Hong Kong be better off if full democracy was introduced to the Pearl of the Oriental? 

It is for Hong Kongers to find out and map out themselves. 

Nevertheless, as a Britain Prime Minister, she want the best for Hong Kong. So is PRC. But why will current Hong Kong favour the days of being a British subject? Despite the crimination the Hong Kongers suffer under the British's administration. 

This is interesting. 

With the passing of The Iron Lady, the reactions of Hong Kongers, pro China and China in the few days to come will get the world intrigued. 

Rest in peace, Baroness Thatcher.

他的新作品把香港电影的核心价值再重回我们的大银幕。好像回到消失中的1980年代喜剧。

Frankly speaking, I begin to like Pang Ho Cheung. 

His latest film trailer reminded me of the 1980s Hong Kong comedies.

今 天的《联合早报》刊登了一篇有关张国荣的文章，剖析了张国荣逝世十周年后，在香港引发的“不死神话”现象。

Singapore's one and only Mandarin daily published an article discussing the legacy that the late Leslie Cheung left behind.

港•影-烟飞烟灭（2000年）/HK Film-From Ashes To Ashes

《烟飞烟灭》是已故张国荣在2000年执导的短片，也是“哥哥”生前担当导演的唯一一部电影。

在长达23分钟的短片，张国荣饰演的专为明星拍造型照的摄影师，和梅艳芳饰演的娱乐经纪公司的老板，都爱“食烟”（抽烟）。然而，随着短片里的儿子罹患急性血癌，一切来得太快。

这部电影的完成，启发了张国荣想当剧情唱片导演的愿望，因为这部《烟》长23分钟的缘故，很多他想表达的概念无法一一表达。在这部短片完成后的三年，张国荣想方设法筹集资金和人力来完成。可惜的是，张国荣过后亲自了解生命，而他的好搭档梅艳芳也在同年尾因癌症离开这个世界。

张国荣在生前表示，这部短片未尽人意，希望大家多多包涵。但是，这包含却变成香港一代“荣迷”的遗憾和思念。

From Ashes To Ashes is Leslie Cheung's one and only directorial debut. This short film produced 13 years ago, featured Leslie Cheung as a superstar level photographer with the late Anita Mui as a couple, loves smoking very much. Seeing their career and family taking off at a successful level, everything changed when their only on screen son was diagnosed with lukemia.......

As with the completion of the short film, Gor Gor had the idea of directing a feature length film. He spent the next three years to gather funds and rope in his onscreen charismatic partner, Anita Mui to act in it. But it was a pity he ended his life on 1 April 2003. The project never took off when Anita passed away at the end of 2003. 

Savour this rare short film. In cinematography standards, Cheung has a long way to go. But it is just pure rememberance as we continue to review this film.

看了这场音乐会之后，我会买演唱会的DVD或者是蓝光碟。

这也是代表了香港正在消失的音乐文化的一部分。

再等正版产品的时候，先看一下网上版。

After watching this concert, I am full of anticipation when the original DVD or Blu-Ray disc is released. 

The importance of this concert is reflecting the part of the disappearing Hong Kong pop songs culture. 

Before the original goods are released, please sample the alternate version. 

Be fast, as such stuff is disappearing as fast as Hong Kong society.

Hong Kong People-Leslie Cheung (1956-2003)

A decade ago, Leslie Cheung left his fans.

His last words to his manager were, "I can finally have a good sleep."

There were speculations on what leads to his death. I could not care less on this but what I care is, the legacy this late superstar left behind. Not for his fans, but for Hong Kong.

It will be fitting for him to be conferred the title of Son of Hong Kong (香港之子), as what Anita Mui is being affectionately called as Daughter of Hong Kong (香港之女). What the late Cheung has done is on par with the legacy that the late Bruce Lee (coincidentally passed away 40 years ago) has left.

From popular culture to serious stuff like Farewell To My Concubine, Happy Together, from a pop idol to a director wannabe, Leslie Cheung is determined to show that he is not just a pop idol. He want to be someone whom can carry a Grammy or Oscar or Cannes award trophy back as what Ang Lee did 10 years after his death.

As we remember him at this time right now, let's us remember not only Leslie Cheung but also the lost decade that Hong Kong has.

I will be touching on his singing and acting career which spanned thirty years, covering the best and bad times of Hong Kong. Some of the film titles I touch will be familiar, some are obscure. As for his songs, it will be a ride down the memory lane.

We miss you so much, Leslie. 

Leslie Chueng's 10 Years Memorial Concert 1

Hong Kong just held a memorial concert for Leslie Cheung which many of the showbiz stars came together to remember this super star. 

This programme which is still broadcasting live on Hong Kong TVB channel till 2am on Monday, Hong Kong time, sees many of the Hong Kong pop stars whom were active from the late 1980s, performing many of Gor Gor's classic hits, including Chase, Dancing King and Queen. 

The importance of this memorial concert is to witness the creme dela creme of the remaining Cantopop singers to belt out the tunes before the Big End comes (as predicted by the late James Wong in his Masters Thesis). 

The concert is the first of the three concerts singing the tunes of Leslie Cheung. The final will be held on 2 April 2013.
